Glorious Comeback

After only a few years, the Catalina Ash is coming back in 2014 with a new and improved version. Sound optimized hardware in a new design and the proven Ash formula from Gretsch deliver fresh tones with a great price/performance ratio. Ash has a very unique sound, prudes a focused tone with strong attack, balanced depth and a dynamic volume range.

Ash drums with first-class Gretsch hardware

The shells are formed with a special Ash formula in 6 layers. In typical Gretsch style, they feature a 30° bearing edge and ensure for the best possible resonating results together with light- weight mini lugs and 2mm wide, triple flanged hoops. The 2-point GTS tom mount, which was further reduced in mass, ensures for the required vibration freedom. All of the hardware is made from high- quality chrome and is equipped with comfortable T Wing nuts as standard. The included tom holder features three mounts, so that next to two tomtoms it can also additionally mount a 7/8" cymbal arm. With the freely adjustable L-Rod arm, the toms can be comfortably and easily brought into the desired position. The bassdrum mount features a memory function and is was redesigned to fit the new rebranding of Gretsch.

Premium Remo Heads

For a mature and fitting sound, the Catalina Ash Sets come standard with single ply, high-quality Remo Ambassador heads. The bass drum Clear Head is also equipped with an integrated muffle-ring.

New Catalina Ash Badge

A new seal in the form of a badge around the sound hole, and three unique, eye-catching and beautiful finishes which impressively bring out the grain of the Ash and optically round off the Catalina Ash. Alternatively, foil finishes are also available in a suitable Black Pearl Style.
