For the construction of the Gretsch G6659TG Broadkaster, Gretsch relies on the classic ingredients for a semi-acoustic electric guitar. Accordingly, the compact body is made of maple laminate , with the back and top connected by a solid centre block , so that no feedback occurs even at high volumes. The glued maple neck lies comfortably in the hand with the well rounded "Standard U"-profile and lets every lick between the 22 frets of the ebony fingerboard slip easily out of your fingers while playing the electric guitar.

Two Gretsch Full'Tron Humbuckers are used as pickups on the Gretsch G6659 Players Edition Broadkaster. With their lively dynamics and extremely wide frequency spectrum, these pickups capture the woody resonance of semi-acoustic construction perfectly and transmit it to the amplifier, so that expressive guitar playing in the wide spectrum of blues and rock'n'roll is no obstacle. Additional tonal variability is also provided by the typical Gretsch circuit consisting of a 3-way toggle , individual volume controls for each pickup as well as master volume and master tone controls.

High-quality hardware equipment that combines classic looks with contemporary functionality completes the Gretsch G6659TG Broadkaster Jr. from the Players Edition. Accordingly, the combination of Bigsby String-Thru Vibrato and Gretsch Adjusto-Matic bridge sits on the body. The Bigsby offers the proven functionality and decorates chords or melodies with softly shimmering modulations, at the same time it allows an easy string change, into which the strings are guided through the vibrato axis . From the bridge the strings with 24.6" scale length (625 mm) run towards the headstock, on which they are guided via a Graphtech saddle to the Gotoh locking mechanisms . These not only guarantee an absolutely precise tuning of the electric guitar, but also make string changes extremely comfortable.
