Pearl Masters Premium Legend MPL, MPL924XEP/C #310

One of the latest innovation from Pearl is called MPL which stands for Masters Premium Legend. These drums might indeed become legendary one day. The very thin shells are made 100% from maple and every ply has a thickness of just 0,9 mm. Made for the demands of modern drummers, more tone, more warmth and more flexibility...

Every shell of the Master Premium Legend series is manufactured in a special process, the so called "Superior Shell Technology" procedure. Selected maple wood is literally baked into a perfect shape under high pressure and high temperatures. The shells are glued with a unique glue that becomes as hard as the wood when heated while all plies are angled at the end to achieve an overlap of the single plies. The result is an extremely solid shell. The drums have a 45° bearing edge to provide optimal head to shell contact with the Remo heads.

The excellent resonance of the shells is supported with the extremely light "Fat Tone" hoops which are flanged to the inside on the upper edge. The set features proves features like the OptiMount tom mounts, stainless steel tuning rods and rubber padded shell hardware.
