The Pioneer TORAIZ AS-1 is a monophonic analogue synthesizer that offers new creative possibilities for studio and stage applications. Equipped with a huge range of intuitive controls, the TORAIZ AS-1 is driven by a fully programmable, true analogue synthesis engine. Parameter knobs let you make both subtle and dramatic changes to the tone of your music, so you can then create your own personalised sounds. Use the touchpad-style keyboard and slider to manipulate your sounds during performances.
The AS-1 is based on the same analogue filters as the Dave Smith Prophet-6 so you have access to two voltage-controlled oscillators (VCO) with continuously-variable triangle, sawtooth, and pulse wave shapes. Additionally you can mould your sound using the two voltage-controlled filters (VCF), a four-pole, resonant low-pass filter that can self-oscillate, and a two-pole, resonant high-pass filter.
A host of 495 preset programmes are hugely inspiring for the user and each have a different sound and 64-step sequence that can be edited separately. If you so desire, you can even save up to 495 of your own programmes in the five user banks. The AS-1 is fitted with the Prophet-6-derived dual FX engine so you can access effects including Bucket Brigade Delay, Distortion, Ring Modulation, Chorus and Maestro Phaser.
The TORAIZ AS-1 features a touchpad keyboard so you can change the notes assigned to the keys with Scale Mode and make sure your performance is in perfect harmony. The 64-step sequencer allows you to step recording of patterns, chang the musical key and edit the sound without editing the pattern. Use the Soundtower Inc. Sound Editor to view the details of your programmes in a single graphical interface and experiment freely by editing the parameters directly on your PC or Mac.
