The Sandberg California TT4 Swamp Ash MN Natural High-Gloss is a German built electric bass with a versatile sound and a modern / vintage design. It features a swamp Ash body, a six-fold screwed Maple neck with Maple fingerboard, 2x Delano T-Style single coils and an active 2-band tone control.
The six-fold screwing of neck and body is typical of Sandberg’s attention to detail and promotes even tone development. This 4-string electric bass produces a loud sound with a long sustain. The comfortably designed "C" profile neck, nestles in the hand when playing, making complex bass lines easier to implement on the slim fingerboard.
Delano Single Coils
The California TT4 Natural High-Gloss uses 2x passive Delano T-Style single coils as pick-ups. The bridge pick-up delivers a wiry sound, which is noticeable in the band sound due to its assertive mids, while the mid-position pick-up has a juicy bass foundation and clear highs. The Blend control can be used to mix the pickups for a wide variety of sounds. In addition, both pickups have a natural compression thanks to their open, fat pole pieces. The tone can be adjusted further by the musically tuned, active 2-band tone control, which can be bypassed, if necessary, via the push/pull switch in the volume control for an authentic passive sound.
Sandberg Hardware
High-quality Sandberg hardware completes the equipment found on the Sandberg California TT4. The solidly built Sandberg Bridge 4 has an audible effect on the sustain and sound development. In addition to the perfect adjustment of intonation and string position, their three-dimensionally adjustable string riders also allow the string spacing to be adjusted. At the headstock, the strings are first guided over the zero fret and saddle, before they find a hold on the Sandberg Machine Heads. These heads are lightweight, counteracting top-heaviness, and have a precise run, which guarantees exact and stable tuning.
