The Schecter Traditional Van Nuys is all about the early Schecter Custom Shop models as they were built in Van Nuys, California in the late seventies. With traditional body designs, hot-wound pickups and slim necks, the instruments soon reached the then-fledgling shred scene, laying the foundation for today's Schecter lineup. The Schecter Traditional Van Nuys harkens back to these classic components of the era and proves to be an extremely sonically adept foundation for players with high technical demands on their instrument.
Lightweight ash body & Roasted Maple NeckThe Traditional Van Nuys is based on a classic ST-style body made of lightweight ash wood with a wide Tummy Cut and additional Forearm Contour for maximum playability in all registers. For the realization of demanding playing techniques, the 4-fret Roasted Maple neck is ready, which with its slim Vintage-C profile , wide 14" fingerboard radius and 22-fret Jumbo fretting creates the best conditions for carefree lead playing.
To elicit the widest possible variety of potential sounds from the Traditional Van Nuys, Schecter relies on a classic HSS setup composed of a Schecter USA SuperRock Vintage humbucker in the bridge position and two Schecter USA MonsterTone single coils on the neck and in the middle position. The pickup from the Schecter Custom store deliver creamy humbucker tones and airy coil Tap sounds at the bridge, while the two single coils with enlarged pole pieces add clarity and that extra dose of punch.
Schecter 2-Point Tremolo & Locking Mechanics.Complementing the Traditional Van Nuys' classic setup is a classic Schecter Diamond Vintage Tremolo that contributes tuning-stable vibrato sounds with its reliable 2-point suspension . The six Schecter Locking tuners also play an important role here, as they provide lightning-fast string changes with their practical clamping function and contribute significantly to the instrument's outstanding tuning stability due to fewer required axle windings.
