With the new electro-acoustic version of the dulcimer-like Merlin, the manufacturer Seagull adds an easy-to-learn folk instrument with its very own charm and sound character to its range. Due to its open "D"-tuning and specially arranged 7 frets, a melodious chord unfolds with every one-finger grip, making this instrument a pleasure for beginners. A solid spruce top and a rock maple body produce a bright tone that echoes in the overtones for a long time and, thanks to a doubled "D" string, produces a gentle chorus effect. For a comfortable grip a stable rock maple neck is used, which in combination with a slim 32.5 mm nut width offers enough space to easily handle even extensive grips. The short 527 mm scale length in combination with a String-Through-Body construction helps the woods used to vibrate freely and illustrates the craftsmanship of the manufacturer. Precise tuners and a natural-sounding pickup system round off the package perfectly and ensure a wide range of possible applications.
