The Sonor AQ2 Safari Set WHP White Pearl is a four-piece drum set with seven-ply maple drum shells and Smart Mount. Thanks to its small size and flexible settings, it is also suitable as a practice drum set for children. In addition, the Sonor drum set is uncomplicated to transport, pleasantly light and quickly assembled. The AQ2 shells are manufactured by Sonor according to the proven CLTF principle, the wood layers are cross-glued at 90°. The lugs of the AQ2 series from Sonor are all equipped with the TuneSafe system, which prevents independent loosening. The bearing edges are accurate 45°, the exact head support favors a focused and linear sound character. The innovative Sonor Smart Mount scores with low contact, this was developed in Germany and ensures an unhindered resonance.
All shells of the AQ2 drum kit are made of seven layers of maple. Three layers of Canadian maple are covered by two layers of Asian maple on the front and back. This results in a warm and clear tone with a high bass content. The bass drum is 7.2 mm thin and toms and snare only 5.8 mm, this contributes significantly to the resonant and perfect sound. In addition, the individual wood layers are cross-glued at a 90° angle, so the shell remains completely stress-free, which also has a positive effect on the resonance. The lugs are all equipped with the Sonor TuneSafe system, which prevents unintentional rotation of the tuning rods during playing. The fine 45° bearing edge also contributes to an effortless tuning process.
The tom-toms of the Sonor AQ2 series are suspended by means of the Smart Mount System. The mounting system for drums was developed by Sonor in Germany and convinces with minimalist design and high functionality. The suspension has only two points of contact with the shell and allows it to vibrate freely and unhindered. A suspension rail is incorporated directly into the lugs in the Sonor Smart Mount System and in addition there is an effective buffer made of hard rubber between the shell and the rail for more resonance and balanced sustain.
