With the Continental 73 BK , VOX presents a versatile stage piano that cuts a fine figure on stage as well as at home and at Studio. The semi-weighted Waterfall keyboard with 73 keys is velocity sensitive and provides a pleasant playing feel. Highlight of the instrument are the six different sound generators , which are divided into Tonewheel Organ, Transistor Organ, Electric Piano, High-Definition Piano, analog Modeling Synthesizer and PCM Synthesis (sample-based). The polyphony depends on the selected sound generation and ranges from 36 to 240 voices . Thanks to a generously designed sample memory of 10.5 GB , a detailed and realistic output of the sample-based sounds is guaranteed. The central control element of the VOX Continental 73 BK are the nine LED strips , which depending on the selected mode eg. can act as virtual drawbars, Equalizer or even synthesizer parameters. Small displays in the tone generation areas with dedicated controls ensure quick and unambiguous handling of the instrument.

Digital and analog effects

The final touch to the high-quality sounds of the VOX Continental 73 BK is provided by the effects processor, which makes four effects simultaneously usable . The modulation effects to which also Chorus and Flanger belong have six variants , Delay offers four different models and Reverb even five variants . The Equalizer gives access to nine bands . The icing on the cake in this stage piano is the newly developed NuTube tube technology , which finely doses the sound with a bit of grant and above all analog warmth. No digital whitewashing is at work here, but rather primal analog honesty with a good portion of funk.

Versatile connection options

In terms of connections, the VOX Continental 73 is ready for any studio or stage situation . The stereo audio outputs are available in 6.3mm jack and XLR , the latter being particularly useful on stages with long cable runs. For advanced foot control, there are connections for damper pedal, rotor speed (switch) and expression pedal . The MIDI inputs and outputs are used for communication with other MIDI equipment, one of the two USB j acks provides the MIDI connection to a computer respectively the DAW. The other USB socket is intended for a USB stick to load and save additional scenes.
