The Warm Audio TB12 Tone Beast is, as the name implies, no tame, decorative wall flower. This is made very clear by the Tone Beast through its characteristic sound colouration. As soon as this device is fed with high Gain, it shows its true strength. However, because this is not always desirable in every situation, the device offers different operating modes. The 1731 is a vintage style Opamp with more intense sound colourization in comparison to the cleaner, milder and more modern saturation character of the 918. If absolutely no sound manipulation is desired, the output can be deactivated via a Bypass switch.
