Sarajevo is a delay module based on three BBD chips with 4096 stages each. Thanks to an input compressor and a total of four anti-aliasing filters, a very good signal-to-noise ratio and best conditions for the BBD chips are achieved.
All three delays are operated with the same clock and are connected in series. The delay signals of the individual chips can be tapped individually and in sum. The last tap is fed back to the input compressor via a tilt filter, which creates classic echo effects and can be adjusted via the feedback and tone controls. Sarajevo can be used as a continuously variable delay or in two differently synchronized modes:
In Free mode, the Tap Tempo button flashes green and the delay time can be set between 20 ms and 1560 ms. External control voltages can be used to multiply or divide the set delay time up to a factor of four.
In Tap Tempo mode, the Tap Tempo button can be used to set a beat frequency. When pressed twice, the time interval between the two presses is taken as the beat and the Tap Tempo button turns yellow. The T3 control acts as a delay time divider/multiplier in this mode and can achieve ratios of 1:6 to 6:1.
In Sync mode, the beat is generated by a clock applied to the Sync input and the Tap Tempo knob lights red. The T3 knob performs the same function in this mode as in Tap Tempo mode.
