Combining the analogue playing feeling of a first-class concert grand with the advantages of a digital piano is the demand of the "Avant Grand" pianos by Yamaha.

The new N-1 represents the latest expansion of the Avant Grand series and fulfills the range. Nevertheless this smallest and most simple Avant Grand can keep up with an acoustic grand concerning playing feeling and mechanic. The perfect interaction of acoustic and digital technologies sets new accents among digital pianos. For example the Yamaha-engineers have given the small Avant Grand a modified concert-grand- keyboard.. This enables the precise tuning like in an acoustic grand and makes the digital instrument more interesting also for demanding players.

Yamaha chose the big CFIIIS-concert grand as sampling source in order to reproduce the original sound of an excellent concert grand almost perfectly.

The speaker system of the AvantGrand was designed in a way that this sound can be heard best from the position of the player. A three-way-system reproduces the full, natural waves of the soundboard. Moreover each frequency band (basses, mids, trebles) are equiped with an own amplifier in order to prevent overlapping. By this new innovative system the instrument can reproduce the colours and shades of each note much better than in common speaker-amplifier-systems.!!!
