The Denis Wick DW 5533 Cup Bass Trombone Mute offers a versatile and good sounding way to mute a bass trombone. If the cup attachment is removed completely, then you have a special Straight damper. If you move the adjustable cup closer to the bell, the sound becomes much quieter and more matte. The cup can also be used individually, then you have a plunger.
