Ever since it’s debut in 1954, the Les Paul Custom has been regarded as the ultimate example of guitar making perfection. Today, the custom editions of the legendary Les Paul belong to the most beloved and prized instruments produced by the premium guitar foundry and continue to be the guarantor of the unforgettable Les Paul sound.

The Les Paul Custom is a pure-bred offspring of the Gibson Custom Shop and orientates itself towards the models of the 50s. The excellently crafted Les Paul indulges in typical Custom features such as a multi-layer binding, gold hardware and a classic ebony finish. And when it comes to pick up selection, the craftsmen of the Gibson Custom Shop know what they’re doing. The 490R in the neck position is the modern equivalent of the popular ’57 Classic Pickup. With slightly more power in the high-mids and the use of Vintage Alnico 2 magnets, this pickup delivers a modern and irresistible humbucker sound. At the bridge, a 498T equipped with Vintage Alnico V Magnets, ensures serious steam. The hotter version of the popular 490T delivers warm, powerful lead sounds with defined mids and highs and will make any rocker smile, at least on the inside.
