The MT 71S from Microtech Gefell is a condenser microphone with a proven large diaphragm capsule, which is characterized by excellent transmission characteristics, high sensitivity and a large signal-to-noise ratio. Microfell guarantees a clean and discolouration-free sound quality and enables recordings of instrumental and vocal soloists, primarily in radio and television studios as well as for high-quality transmissions. The MT71s is characterized by an effective increase in altitude of approx. 4 dB in the 7kHz range and a slight reduction at low frequencies. The microphone owes its low inherent noise and high output level to the transformerless circuit concept, which replaces the usual transformer with a balanced output stage. In addition, there is a practical 10 dB preattenuation for working with very high sound pressure levels. To compensate for the so-called proximity effect, the transmission factor can be reduced in the low frequency range. As with most condenser microphones, it is powered by a 48V phantom power supply.
