The ML-1 Vintage Edition from Slate Digital is based on the ultra-linear microphone circuitry of the VMS ML-1 modeling microphone and uses it in a vintage 47-style cabinet to create the ultimate combination of classic looks and modern technology. To be more precise, it is a state-of-the-art cardioid condenser microphone that allows ultra-linear, high-resolution and clean recordings to be made. It owes its microphone to a shock-mounted, edge-limited, 6 micron gold-plated capsule that has been carefully tested to ensure the most original sound. In combination with a high-quality linear preamplifier like the Slate Digital VMS ONE Ultra Linear Preamp, the ML1 offers the perfect empty screen for the Slate Digital Microphone and Preamp Modeling plug-ins. The latter represent a complete cabinet with virtual microphones and preamplifiers that can be exchanged at any time and are suitable for all common recording situations.
