Optimized Semi-Hollow Construction

For the Contemporary Active Starcaster, Squier relies on an optimized semi-hollow construction with an elegant design clearly inspired by the legendary Seventies original. The top, back and sides of the beautiful offset body are made of laminated maple , while a center block and the absence of f-holes make the semi-acoustic electric guitar insensitive to feedback even at high volumes and gain settings. Thanks to the rounded neck base and comfortable C-profile , the bolt-on Roasted Maple neck can be played smoothly up to the highest registers.

Active Ceramic Pickups

As pickup for the Contemporary Active Starcaster Squier chooses two active SQR Active Ceramic Humbuckers , which skillfully capture the resonant timbre of the semi-acoustic electric guitar and with their increased Output elicit juicy overdrive sounds for rock and metal from the guitar amplifier. In the clean channel, the pickup also impress with a crystal-clear and harmonious representation of chords and single notes. The active ceramic pickups of the Active Starcaster are managed classically by means of a 3-way switch and general volume and tone controls.
