The Fender Compugilist is the result of Fender merging two in-house circuits into one extremely useful effects pedal. Consisting of a compressor and distortion section, the pedal offers full control over distortion and dynamics processing and allows you to use both effects solo or together. Level, Recovery and Compression controls are available at the Comp level, which determine the output volume, the release time of the compression and the compression ratio. The distortion section, on the other hand, offers tone, gain and level controls for sound shaping, while the bass boost switch provides additional low end. Especially when both effects are combined, the compressor offers a juicy boost before distortion, which easily produces cutting lead sounds and rock and metal riffs in the mix.
