With the JHS Colour Box V2, US effects designer Josh Scott presents the logical further development of the famous preamp pedal. This effects pedal with its extremely versatile EQ section is aimed at the characteristic "direct-in" sound in the style of classic Beatles, Wilco or Steely Dan recordings and embodies the warming sound character of high-quality Neve studio consoles. For sound shaping, a semi-parametric 3-band equalizer with an additional switchable Hi Pass filter is available, while the Pre-Vol control can even drive the incoming signal into the distorting realms of fuzz if required. The V2 version of the Colour Box now features a Hi/Lo switch, which influences the clean headroom and can therefore also reproduce acoustic guitars in crystal-clear quality. For adequate connectivity on stage and in the studio, the Colour Box V2 has inputs and outputs in jack format for connection to amplifiers and effects units, while the XLR connectors forward the signal to mixing consoles and interfaces and can even transmit 48V phantom power without any problems.
