A heavyweight contender: the heavyweight snare and bass drum heads consist of 2 foils with a thickness measuring 10 mil each, making them the strongest and most robust heads to come the Evans house.

The double-ply structure with 2 foils of the same thickness, allows the heavyweight heads to produce a very powerful and dark sound, which develops a ton of force especially in the low-end. A full-developed, compressed attack and a short sustain make the Heavyweights ideal for loud and hard styles such as rock and metal.

As usual with the EMAD series, the heavyweight EMAD heads come with two different foam dampening rings, which are attached to the outside of the head. This promises a perfect dampening of the shells without additional dampening materials such as cushions or the like.

As with many Evans heads, the “level 360” head ring ensures that the Heavyweight have a perfect seat on the shell, preventing the sound from being choked out and allows the head to vibrate significantly better.
