The Presonus Eris Sub8 is a compact but powerful subwoofer that extends the frequency range of smaller loudspeakers such as the Presonus Eris 3.5 or Eris 4 to lower frequencies: it produces an average of 50W of power and produces a maximum sound pressure level of an impressive 113dB at a distance of 1m. This makes it sufficient for all normal mixing sessions in general, but it also comes as a supplement for medium-sized home cinema systems, stereo and compact systems or the DJ setup at home.
The Eris Sub8 is equipped with an active crossover network and balanced and unbalanced cable connectors, so it can be connected directly to active speakers and an audio interface or consumer electronics of your choice as well. You can adjust the input level and crossover frequency to suit your needs. An additional high-pass filter removes the sub-bass, which significantly tidies up the sound in problematic listening conditions, and a phase rotary switch allows the Sub8 to be positioned more freely without having to worry about cancellations around the crossover frequency. The bass reflex port at the front also allows it to be placed directly against a wall.
Especially for small rooms the Eris Sub8 is a serious candidate and a good addition to e.g. small diaphragm active loudspeakers.
