The Silencer is a unit, which reduces excessive capacity of the power amp or audio pressure.
Many of the classic sounds have their origin in the eara of the guitar heroes of the 60s and 70s. Because of the lack of PA systems, guitar amps were played at their load limit- the harmonical and controlable overdrive of the power amp makes the tube amp come off best. The loudness produced by a fully turned up 50W or 100W can cause serious damage to the auditory of the musician and the audience.
The Silencer™ finds a remedy to this problem. The Silencer is switched between cabinet and amp and channels an adjustable amount of the power to the cabinet, the Silencer converts the excessive power into heat. the loudness can be adjusted in 2 dB steps up to –16 dB (Power). At this point a fine tuning (FINE) is activated, which allows an additional continous adjustment. For balancing physio-acoustic losses of the auditory, a 2 step accentuation of the high (BITE) and low frequencies (PUNCH) The „Natural Tone Technology“ absorbs the typical losses of sound and transparency at higher lowering levels. In the position LOAD of the Power knob, the Silencer™ can be used as a Loadbox. In connection with a tube amp and a Silencer™ the use of a cabinet isn?t necessary.
A linear adjustable Output (LINE OUT) in connection with a Silencer™ used as a load box allows the usage of a tube amp as soundtool in complexen guitar systems. An additional symmetrical F.A.N.T.A. Output (Frequency Adapted Natural Tone Accessory ) allows the direct connection to recording/P.A.-sytems.
The Silencer functions as a passive unit, no batteries or additional AC-adaptor is requiered.
