The Chandler Limited REDD.47 microphone preamp is a redevelopment of the original tube-line amplifier out of the equally legendary as well as rare EMI REDD.51 recording console from around 1959 to 1968. Originally designed as the heart of the EMI REDD.51 recording console, the REDD.47 line-amplifier serves to amplify all level signals in the audio signal (microphone and line inputs, Echo sends and monitor outputs).

With its unmistakably powerful and aggressive sound character, the REDD.47 shaped the sound of music recorded in the abbey road studios between 1964 and 1968, among them numerous tracks from the Beatles. The Chandler Limited REDD.47 offers many additional improvements from the original circuit design: it lends the preamp more amplification headroom, allowing for unadulterated clear to classically saturated sound with harmonic distortion of up to 2% without clipping.
