The Bard Quartet by Shakmat Modular is a quantizer with four inputs and outputs. Thanks to precise 16-bit converters, accurate scaling over ten octaves is no problem. Each of the four channels can have its own scale and can be microtuned if needed. In addition, before or after the quantizer function, the pitch can be shifted +/- three octaves. Highlight of the module is the so called Harmony feature, which allows to switch stored harmonies containing scales, octave shifts and input/output assignments via knob or CV. Various settings for the four channels can be stored in 80 memory locations. The functionality is rounded off with an editable arpeggiator per channel- five playback modes with a range of 1-4 octaves create something like polyphonic note progressions in a system with at least two oscillators.
